Iran warns US, says can't dictate terms on Strait of Hormuz.
Assam govt. on Thursday said that it had definite inputs that Maoists elements had infiltrated into the anti-dam agitation in the state and that the govt. would take "strongest" action against them.
India has asked Pakistan to enunciate its nuclear doctrine to ensure "transparency and predictability"  to its nuclear policy.

Hyped 'Desi Bt' (Bikaneri Narma or BN Bt cotton) has Monsanto gene, Govt. stops production.


India's claim of having developed its own Bt cotton (genetically modified) variety has taken an embarrassing turn with an RTI inquiry by 2 scientists revealing how the University of Agriculture Science (UAS)  at Dharwar went ahead to produce an indigenous variety working on a gene originally patented by Monsanto.
North Korea has hailed late leader Kim Jong-il's son, Kim Jong-un, as "Supreme leader of the Party, State and Army".

Harappan site discovered in Kutch.

In a joint excavation carried out by the Department of Archaeology of Pune's Deccan College and Gujarat's archaeology department, a new Harappan site has been discovered at Kotada Bhadali village area in Nakhatrana taluka of Kutch district.
It's Atal Bihari Vajpai's 88th B'Day today, along with Delhi Metro.
